Chhatisa Nijog welcomes dress code decision for Srimandir
From January 1 next year, devotees will have to wear decent clothes to enter the Jagannath temple.
Chhatisa Nijog, the servitors’ body, on Monday, welcomed the decision of Sree Jagannath Temple Administration that devotees will have to wear ‘decent’ clothes to enter the 12th century shrine.

As per the decision, devotees will have to wear traditional clothes while visiting Jagannath temple. They should not wear clothes such as shorts, ripped jeans and skirts.
The Nijog, which held a meeting today, finalized the rituals for the holy month of Kartik.
Elaborate arrangements are being made for ‘Habisyalis’ who will visit Puri in the holy month of Kartik, said sources.
Special arrangements will be made for darshan of the deities at Shree Jagannath Temple and partaking Mahaprasad.
