Road Connectivity in Tribal Areas remains Top Priority
Tribes Odisha: Tribal people in Odisha have been facing serious communication problem due to the poor road facilities in many hilly and tribal dominated areas of the State.
Most of the Adivasi hamlets surrounded by the paddy fields, forests and hilly areas with water logging areas which are not being connected with roads. People living in such habitations have been suffering a lot, especially in the rainy seasons with extremely difficulties to venture outside their village.
The children, women and sick are the worst sufferers. Kids cannot go to school and sometime they use rope and boat to go nearby village for school. Pregnant women and sick people also facing lots of difficulties to reach hospitals.
There are hundreds of such villages in Odisha, where people use foot walk route to go to the educational institutions, hospital, market which take much time and deprive them of the process of development.
For Example, locals of five remote villages in Daringbadi block of Kandhamal district in Odisha the school going children every day cross a small river through hanging bridge made up of rope.
Residents living in these tribal-dominated villages say they have never got benefits from any multi-crore welfare projects being executed in those areas.
