The Odisha government’s pavilion at the India International Trade Fair (IITF), which opens in New Delhi on November 14, will feature the state’s handicrafts, tribal culture, and cuisines.

Development commissioner Anu Garg announced the government’s approval of the state’s participation in the IITF, which would run from November 14 to November 27, while presiding over a preparation meeting in Bhubaneswar. “Basudaiva Kutumbakam – United by Trade” is the theme of the international trade expo this year.

Garg instructed to emphasise the idea in the IITF, claiming that Odisha’s handloom and handicraft items have a global reputation for their quality and craftsmanship. Additionally, there will be a large exhibition of jewellery, indigenous goods, and goods made by the state’s cottage industries during the fair.

The commissioner advised that in addition to promoting the state’s rapid development in the tourism, sports, and industrial sectors, the pavilion should emphasise Odisha’s millet, Koraput coffee, organic turmeric, and ginger.

She also emphasised the importance of having a variety of regional specialties on display at the trade show’s food court.

It should be remembered that Odisha won the IITF award for outstanding exhibition the previous year.
