Mega Cultural Train Journey Planned Between Puri And Konark

In a historic announcement, Indian Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw launched a new Vistadome train route between Puri and Konark, promising to combine the richness of Odisha’s cultural legacy with state-of-the-art railway infrastructure. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has allocated a substantial budget of Rs 492 crore for this effort, which is not only a significant improvement to the railway network but also a visionary step towards strengthening the spiritual and historical tourism in Odisha.

With its immersive immersion into the heart of Odisha’s famed Jagannath culture, the recently launched Vistadome train aims to provide more than simply a ride. Thanks to the train’s distinctive design, which permits unhindered spectacular panoramas, the 32-kilometer journey is expected to enthral passengers with its magnificent panoramic views. However, innovation doesn’t end there. Passengers will experience a fusion of Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR) inside, providing an in-depth exploration of the spiritual and historical significance of the area.

The requirement for the allocation of 215 hectares of land for the establishment of unique tourism centres across four to five places within the 32 km stretch is indicative of a cooperative effort between the federal and state governments. The Railway Minister also emphasised the progress made in Odisha’s infrastructure development over the past ten years, citing the opening of 42 post offices that reflect the culture of West Odisha, the completion of 409 railway flyovers and underpasses, and the approval of 5333 mobile towers with a budget of Rs 5600 crore.
