Tribes Odisha: Hundreds of villagers in Matamba and nearby villages in Kotia panchayat in Pottangi Block of Koraput district, held demonstrations in front of Koraput Collector’s office alleging police atrocities on two local youths on suspected Maoist link.
The youths were allegedly picked up from Pottangi and Sunabeda by the cops and detained at Semiliguda Police Station. The villagers alleged that the youths were tortured in police custody.
However, Koraput SP has refuted the allegations saying the youths were interrogated on suspicion, but let off later.
