Tribes Odisha: According to a report in Sambad Daily, a National Level Kabaddi Player Umakanta Khora, who hails from Disariguda village in Kenduguda panchayat in Boipariguda block of Koraput district, is struggling for livelihood.

Umakanta, who had always given priority to Sports, had excelled in Kabaddi and received many awards and accolade. He could not continue his study after 10th due to financial crisis.

Although he himself could not pursue higher education, he made all efforts to ensure proper education to his younger brothers. He has been working as a Security Guard since 2013 and also assisting his father in farming.

Thanks to his efforts, both his younger brothers are now in the Indian Army and serving the nation. While recalling his past glory (Sports) and regretting about not getting proper education, Umakanta laments about non-cooperation and lack of support from the Government.

Will he get any help? Chances are bleak, as he belongs to a tribal region and there is nobody who can take up his case at the highest level.
